Thais for Life is
the winner at
Oscars Quiz Night
Once again it was a very competitive
evening as the best of Pattaya's Quiz fans met at Oscars on Tuesday 14th
October for the monthly Thais4Life Quiz.
The close
fought contest was won by Madame Jim's team ably assisted by Barry, John
and Colin. Madame Jim received the prize of a Litre of Red donated by
Oscars and announced it would be donated to the raffle at The PGF Dinner
at Amor Restaurant on 19th October.
The 'Guess
The Penny Jar' was won by John of Triple Threat who generously presented
his Litre of Red, also donated by Oscars, to the staff. Thank you John.
Following the
Quiz host David then introduced Eugene Gallagher who is President of an
association based in the UK called The Tree Of Life which for the last
ten years has assisted people affected by HIV.
Each year the
Tree Of Life makes one overseas award to thank people for their
outstanding work in this field. Eugene had travelled to Pattaya
especially to make this special presentation and it was awarded to our
very own Jim Lumsden who for many years has supported and assisted
sufferers of this disease both by finance, fundraising, education and
close liaison with Doctor Philippe Seur.
Jim was
presented with a certificate and a staggering piece of Irish Crystal
representing the Tree Of Life. Thank you Jim we do all appreciate it.
Eugene then
surprised everyone by announcing he had been fundraising in the UK and
generously donated £1,000 to Thais4Life for use at Baan Jing Jai
Orphanage which he visited whilst here in Pattaya on his last trip.
A GOOD
EVENING AND A GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO EUGENE.
Plus a big
thank you must also go to Mike of Bar La Cage and White Night Buffet
Restaurant who also presented Thais4Life with 8,100 baht which was
raised at his Australian Wine and Cheese evening on March 13, 2008.
