Presentation to Jing Jai by Thais4Life

Baan Jing Jai Children’s Home, or Orphanage as it is more commonly known, now has over 70 children in residence, and is the major recipient of support from the Thais4Life Charity.

Each year, Thais4Life funds the schooling costs for all the children. Last year this cost was 104,000 baht. This year, it has climbed to 150,000 baht. The costs include the Government fee for all children, of 1,000 baht per child, plus the costs of uniforms, and ancillary school related expenses. The presentation of the 150,000 baht was made to the Baan Jing Jai Administrator, Ms. Piangta Chumnai, at the Thais4Life Bookshop in Soi Yensabai Condotel, on Friday June 4, 2010.

In attendance were Committee members David, Graham, John, and Wally; Jason Sutton (Miss Jason) the entertainer from the UK who has does so much to support Thais4Life for Baan Jing Jai, and Kai Hong-In – the Manager of the Bookshop.

In addition to this annual schooling related expense budget, Thais4Life supports Baan Jing Jai by regularly carrying out food and toiletry shopping expeditions – these costs amount to an average of 20,000-30,000 Baht per month.
