Open Auditions for Loot: Thursday, April 1, 2010

Pattaya Players (home of Pattaya's Professional Amateurs) is proud to announce auditions for its blockbuster upcoming performance of Loot! This 'black comedy' melodrama written by Joe Orton in 1967 is a cult classic that pushed all the boundaries of its day.

There are parts for both male and female actors and auditions will take place at 6pm on Thursday, April 1, 2010. The performances will take place on June 12-13, 2010 and the venue will be announced soon. All interested parties both talent-wise and back stage should plan on attending. For further details and directions on how to find the audition space, please email us at pattayaplayers@gmail.com.

Loot is a scathing assault on money, the law, the Catholic Church and several other sacred institutions, constructed as a Wildean drawing room comedy of the blackest hue. A body, (the mother of a young robber) is in the coffin in the front parlour, it is dumped into a closet so that the thief and his accomplice, an undertaker's assistant, can use the coffin as a hiding place for their stolen money.

The wild adventures that occur among the thieves, the dead Mum's nurse, the widowed husband, and a corrupt and brutal police inspector make for a vitriolic, deadly serious black comedy.

The Pattaya Players continue to look for corporate and private sponsors to help offset their current set-up costs. Please consider joining 2010 current sponsors: AA Insurance Brokers, Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, The Cavanaugh Community Centre, Indian By Nature, LCIT, Horseshoe Point, Bruce & Judy Hoppe, St. Andrews International School, Steps & Rhythm Dance Academy, The Pattaya City Expats Club, SPICE! Magazine, Pattaya Mail and Pattaya People Radio in helping the Pattaya Players to continue being the premier creative arts organization in Pattaya!
