PGF Rear of the Year 2009 at the Copa

On Friday 29 May, over 160 patrons gathered at the Copa Showbar in Boyz Town to watch 21 young Thai men compete for the title PGF Rear of the Year 2009.

At 10.30pm, one-by-one, the contestants were introduced to the audience and judges with each contestant hoping to win one of the six cash prizes on offer.

This year's judges comprised James from Pattaya, Nut from the Dave Man Club here in Pattaya and Sash from New York.

The contestants paraded for the judges, so that they could select 15 finalists, and for the audience so that they could vote for their "Mr Popular" by purchasing roses and giving them to their "rear of choice". Money from the sale of roses goes to the Pattaya Gay Festival charities.

The "Mr Popular" voting was fast and furious but it soon became clear who the two favourites were, 4 and 12 who were neck-and-neck up until the end when a final handful or roses were handed to number 4 top left), Vin who is 19 and works at Boyz Boyz Boyz. Taking Mr Popular 2nd place was number 12 Dan
(bottom right), who is 21 and works at Sawadee Boyz.

The 15 finalists were invited on to the stage for more judging but this year there was an extra opportunity for the audience to participate: Mr STICKERS.
 

Every member of the audience was given a free strip of stickers which they could then stick on the contestant or contestants of choice, the one with the most stuck to his body was declared "MR STICKERS" and the winner was number 15 Jay from Funny Boys. (above)
 

Then it was time to announce the judges decision:

In third place was number 7 Boss who is 20 and
works at Funny Boys;

In second place was number 12 Dan (21) from Sawadee Boyz

and PGF Rear of the Year for 2009 is
number 11 "O"
(left) who is 20 and is currently "unemployed"

A fantastic night that raised over 70,000 Baht for Pattaya Gay Festival charities.
