Mr Oscar 2010

It certainly was a capacity crowd in Oscars on Monday 11th January for the Mr Oscars 2010 competition. All seating was taken very early on a very busy Boyz Town and soon the extra seating on the Soi was also taken leaving standing room only.

The competition was solely for staff members and with prize money totaling 17000 baht the 15 contestants certainly went to great efforts particularly with their costumes.

It was the audience who decided the winner by donating free roses and after an hour and a half of great fun the winner was announced.

The competition was won by Tar who received a trophy and 5000 baht in cash sponsored by Peter and David of Oscars. The first runner up was Yad who received a trophy and 3000 Baht sponsored by Panorama and Funny Boys and the second runner up was Kook receiving a trophy and 2000 Baht sponsored by Peter from The Balcony in Bangkok.

As the winner was crowned a trumpet fanfare sounded and the three winners went out to take a photo call on the Soi.

A magnificent 6000 Baht had been donated by our friend Roy for the best costume and this was won by Ned and a 1000 Baht prize for the best smile donated by Jo Frances and partner Tamzin was won by Oley.

All members of staff not receiving a major prize were given cash by James and Laszlo, thank you both.

It was a great evening particularly for the boys who went on to party the night away. Thanks to all sponsors and other businesses on the Soi in particular Glen and Peter of Copa, Printer Graham and Vic who did the score board assisted by Nay and Jod.

Another great night on Boyz Town.
