Despite the early evening rain and rumbling thunder, Mike was very pleased to welcome over 50 invited guests to Bar La Cage (next door to White Night Restaurant in Soi VC) on Friday 22nd. June, to celebrate his first birthday in his role of Guvnor.

All the guests were treated to their first drink free, courtesy of Mike, and then the Happy Hour offer of buy one, get one free, was extended through to midnight.

A complimentary super supper buffet of Cottage Pie, Baked Beans and thick Wedgie chips, along with some Thai favourites was available throughout the night. Supplied by our good neighbours The White Night Restaurant, the food was their usual very high standard, and went down a treat!

Various silly games were played throughout the evening including Guess the Guvnors age (57), Pass the parcel, Name that Tune, and Pass the Nooky!! There was also a Church Fete style Bottle Stall with a guaranteed prize every time, ranging from a bottle of water through to a bottle of Champagne! Loads of prizes were given away throughout the evening, many of which were donated by Mikes good friends Tony & Ken of the White Night Restaurant, Michael & Jay who will soon be opening Memories Bar in Sunee Plaza, John from Valentines Guest House in Soi Lengkee and Phil from Spice Magazine, amongst others.

Mikes long suffering friend Roger provided live musical accompaniment for the Name that Tune game and performed well under difficult conditions. Then a group of Mikes friends, led by Michael & Roger, arranged a surprise cabaret show and two sexy guys performed two erotic dance numbers that were as professional as any on offer anywhere in Pattaya.

The final event of the evening at 1.am was a sexy dance contest between four of the Bar La Cage boys, Art, Eak, Nooky and Tom. Initially they were a little shy and needed encouragement to gyrate, but soon got into the swing of things. Based on the amount of applause and the amount of money stuffed down their Bikini’s, Tom narrowly beat Nooky into first place. Flushed with their success it was difficult persuading the lads to get off the stage and put their clothes back on. Is this worrying trend going to be regularly seen in Bar La Cage?

Over 5000 Baht was raised throughout the evening for Thais4Life, and everyone had a really good time raising it. It was all a bit of a laugh!
