Lunch in Bang Saree and a stroll
along the pier to see the fisherfolk

Travel along the Sukhumvit Road, just past the entrance to Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and you will see the signposts to Bang Saree.

Here you find several kilometres of golden sandy beach and an that area is well known for its stilt restaurants serving marvellous seafood dishes. The area is so re-known for its seafood that people from Bangkok take a 2 hour drive just to have dinner in Bang Saree.

On Tuesday, July 1 a group of friends set out, on what has become an annual pilgrimage, to Bang Saree for lunch as part of Ken's birthday celebrations.

After an excellent lunch at the pier head restaurant the afternoon was concluded with a leisurely stroll along the pier to meet "the fisherfolk".

In the afternoons the crews of the many trawlers are just awakening and preparing for the next night's fishing. What can be more entertaining for them than a "pack" of overweight farang strolling along.

Well worth a visit! And thank you Ken.
